Delegations from the governments of Nicolas Maduro and Joe Biden held the day before a new round of talks to address issues of common interest, according to information revealed by the Venezuelan president.
“It is good that within the framework of the political reality this is carried out, within the framework of respect based on international public law and the sovereignty of nations”, Ortega said in declarations to Union Radio.
In this sense, the parliamentarian of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) estimated that the new contacts could generate conditions to advance in bilateral relations and in all socio-economic aspects.
Likewise, he considered that the U.S. government should restore the rights of Venezuela in the spaces of diplomatic headquarters, and advance in primary agreements for the reestablishment of consular agreements.
The approach of the United States to Venezuela also had as a background the special military operation of Russia in Ukraine and the severe retaliatory measures applied by the West against Moscow, with a significant impact on the international energy trade.
