Pink House Spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti told Télam news agency that the president traveled to the northern city of San Salvador de Jujuy to make visible the injustices committed against the leader of the Tupac Amaru organization and to call for her release.
Sala was admitted on Monday to the Los Lapachos clinic and, although she was reportedly in stable condition, her situation is delicate.
Her lawyers and medical staff denounced that she is constantly watched by armed police officers who prevent her from having close contact with her relatives and doctors.
They also criticized the fact that the officers remain at her bedside reporting everything that happens on the telephone and taking videos and photos, which causes considerable stress on her and other patients.
On Tuesday, Argentina’s Secretariat for Human Rights called on the Supreme Court and Jujuy authorities to put an end to the attacks against the leader.
In a statement, the organization criticized the growing political, judicial and media persecution against her and called for the implementation of the protection measures ordered by the Inter-American Court.
