During a press conference, Choi Sang-mok said that an agreement discussed by President Yoon Suk-yeol and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda at the North Atlantic Organization (NATO) summit, which will end Thursday in Spain, is expected to come to fruition in the near future.
According to the presidential secretary for economic affairs, this is one of the achievements of the South Korean leader in his diplomatic efforts to promote the military industrial power of the Republic of Korea (ROK).
However, analysts believe that the weapons exported by South Korea to Poland run the risk of integrating the NATO countries’ war supplies to the fascist government of Ukraine, thus prolonging the conflict with Russia and its devastating international economic effects.
Local media recalled that Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak expressed his country’s readiness to purchase weapons during a visit in May to Seoul where he inspected systems related to the FA-50 light combat aircraft, the K2 tank, the K9 howitzer and the Redback infantry fighting vehicle.
On Wednesday, expert Kim Hyo Myong warned about the danger of expansion of the war by NATO into the Asia-Pacific region with South Korea as cannon fodder and China in the crosshairs to satisfy US interests.
Kim added that military moves against the DPRK by the US and the ROK in and around the peninsula are also becoming open.
