Uruguayans have a negative perception of the national situation

Montevideo, Jun 30 (Prensa Latina) A majority of Uruguayans have a bad or very bad perception of the country's situation according to a survey by the renowned public opinion consultancy Factum.

A 33% of the participants pointed to the first of the two adjectives and 18 to the second, to add up to 51% with a more negative than positive vision, as pointed out by the directors of the pollster, Oscar and Eduardo Botinelli.

On the contrary, 36% answered that it is “good” and only 3.0 opted for “very good”, while 9.0 said “more or less”.

One of the significant results observed in the study is the change in the citizens’ perception of the national reality, according to political affiliation, since among those who voted for the Frente Amplio 84% considered the current situation as “bad or very bad” and only 9.0 “good or very good”. .

Meanwhile, among the voters of the parties that make up the ruling coalition, 65% considered it to be “good or very good”, 24% considered it to be “bad or very bad” and 10% “neither good nor bad”.

In November 2021, the same survey showed that the positive valuation was 53 and the negative 37, a trend that was accentuated in the first quarter of 2022, but in the second quarter the opinions were reversed.

According to Eduardo Botinelli, the results imply that “there was a turning point – with the referendum repealing 135 articles of the Urgent Consideration Law “in between”.
