German people´s health risk is too low, where first patients were diagnosed six weeks ago, the RKI added.

Monkeypox is a rare viral disease, recently detected in thousands of people globally.

German Permanent Vaccination Commission highly recommended vaccination for certain risk groups and for people who had “close” contact with infected people.

Symptoms usually disappear on their own, but in some patients complications arise, and in very rare cases the death.
