In latest report, the health authorities warned that the positivity rate stood at 28.4%. 464,732 tests were conducted and 94 deaths were reported.

1,076,946 infected people remain in home isolation, while 8,326 patients are hospitalized, 323 of them are admitted to ICUs.

Despite such data, the Undersecretary of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri, forecast an improvement for coming days and also said: “we look optimistically the possibility of an updated vaccine in the fall, as we await this new wave to finish”

Health Minister Roberto Speranza, on the other hand, pointed out that “we´s getting ready for a vaccination campaign in the fall.”
