Spanish President will meet with heads of WTO and WHO

Madrid, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) The Moncloa Palace announced today that the President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, will travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to hold high-level meetings.

Sánchez will meet this Wednesday with the director general of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and on July 7 with the head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

The appointment with the head of the WTO in the Swiss capital of watchmaking will serve to review the agreements of the XII Ministerial Conference of the WTO, held in June with topics such as food security, the pandemic and sustainable fishing.

With the Director General of the WHO, Sánchez will discuss issues related to the current evolution of the pandemic and the donation of vaccines by Spain through the COVAX system.

The head of the Spanish Executive will complete his visit to Geneva with his participation in the meeting of the Council of the Socialist International, convened under the slogan “Our commitment to humanitarian and sustainable solutions to global challenges”.
