India reports nearly 120,000 Covid-19 active cases

New Delhi, Jul 7 (Prensa Latina) India on Thursday reported a rise in the number of Covid-19 active cases, totaling 119,457, after 18,930 persons contracted the disease in the last 24 hours.

So far, India has accumulated 43,568,884 contagions since the disease broke out in January 2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated.

On Wednesday, India also reported 35 deaths due to complications related to the disease, so the death toll rose to 525,305.

To date, 42,921,977 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the disease nationwide, so the recovery rate is 98.52 percent.

India’s laboratories made more than 865 million PCR tests in real-time on Wednesday to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, the Indian Council of Medical Research stated.

So far, more than 1.983 billion doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in India.
