Mexico exceeds expectations for tourism revival, official says

Mexico City, Jul 6 (Prensa Latina) Mexico has exceeded expectations for the revival of tourism after the onslaught of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a press release on statements by Tourism Secretary Miguel Torruco on Wednesday.

The information reports on a meeting between Torruco and Hector Tejada Shaar, president of the Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Concanaco Servytur), to foster cooperation to strengthen the chain of services to holidaymakers.

From January to March 2022, 14,937,000 international tourists visited the country, accounting for a growth of 30.9 percent compared to 2021.

Mexico received 24.6 million foreigners, a 39.3-percent increase tourist arrivals compared to 2019, before the pandemic.
