Putin and Erdogan analyze growing bilateral economic cooperation

Moscow, Jul 11 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin analyzed in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan the growing development of bilateral economic cooperation.

Special attention was paid to the intensification of economic exchange, including measures to improve their legal framework and increase trade, the Kremlin press service said in a statement.

The text published on the Russian presidency’s web portal confirmed that the leaders also discussed activities to secure the Eurasian nation’s gas supplies to Turkey.

They also addressed the resolution of the crisis in Syria, stressing the importance of continuing peace negotiations in the Astana Format (Russia, Turkey and Iran).

In the dialogue Putin and Erdogan reviewed the course of events in Ukraine, focusing on grain imports and exports and maritime traffic in the Black Sea.

For its part, the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed that its head of State in the conversation ratified that Ankara is ready to contribute to the process of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev.
