According to the balance sheet of the Robert Koch Institute of Virology (RKI) since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of infected people has risen to 29,308,100, equivalent to more than one third of the population.
These numbers are increasing rapidly despite the high immunization rate in the country,the agency in charge of infectious disease control warned.
Most of the infections are in North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Niedersachsen.
The RKI also reported the death of 104 people, bringing the total number of deaths since the beginning of the disease to 142,139.
Germany is the second country hardest hit by the Covid-19 crisis in Europe after France.
