During the meeting, held virtually, both parties discussed issues of mutual interest such as fighting climate change, coordination, perspectives and priorities in the field of disarmament and arms control, and cooperation in the field of candidacies in international organizations, the website of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
For his part, General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Rodolfo Benitez, thanked Timor-Leste for its firm support for Cuba’s claims for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years.
The dialogue led both countries to ratify their interest and willingness to continue deepening political and diplomatic ties, the official note said.
Moreover, they committed to strengthen multilateralism and international cooperation as the only possible way to solve global challenges and defend the UN Charter and International Law.
