Cuban businessmen interested in doing business with Angola

Luanda, Jul 17 (Prensa Latina) A Cuban business delegation is currently searching out business openings in Angola due to this African nation's commitment to scientific-technical development to expand its domestic economy.

In statements to Prensa Latina, members of the Cuban delegation distinguished the contacts with potential clients and partners, in a visit to the Luanda International Fair (FILDA-2022) opened on Saturday by the State Minister for Economic Coordination Manuel Nunes Júnior.

The Cuban Head of the Export Department at the Higher Education Ministry (MES, in Spanish) Andrés Erasmo Ares explained that his country´s business offers are face-to-face and distance academic services for undergraduate and graduate students.

In the case of Angola, Ares said, we will try to strengthen postgraduate services, since the African country already has thousands of professionals capable of teaching at university levels, and progressing in postgraduate training would be fruitful to grow academically and scientifically.

The Havana International Center (CIH, in Spanish) is one of the entities deeply involved in the market research, as confirmed by CIH Vice President Norlán Hidalgo, who heaped praise on the CIH´s international economic associations with the firms Jiménez Astorga, Abogados y Consultores (from Spain) and Baker Tilly (Dominican Republic).

In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate training, the CIH guarantees technology transfers, implementation of research, development and innovation projects, as well as business management, Hidalgo said.

The Cooperative Development Director at the Agriculture Ministry (MINAGRI, in Spanish) Alcides López, on the other hand, said the experience in knowledge management is a common trait. For example, he stated, we have 19 research institutes for diverse agricultural studies including five assigned to MES´ portfolio.

To date, he announced, a great number of Angolan organizations have shown interest in being trained and technically advised, especially regarding cooperative management, seed production, animal nutrition and coffee crops.

If they choose to send personnel to Cuba, they could combine theoretical learning with field training in good practice sites, which would be perfect to train professors.
