During the commemoration ceremony for the 45th anniversary of that space dedicated to the figure of the apostle in this capital, its director Marlene Vazquez conveyed the congratulatory message sent by the president of the Caribbean nation Miguel Diaz-Canel.
She also mentioned the words dedicated to that entity by Rogelio Polanco, head of the ideological department in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), whose work and spirit of resistance and daily heroism of his collective is essential to the island.
Vazquez recognized the literary production of the master as the greatest cultural and ideological strength of the island and referred to the foundation stage of the center, conceived by leader Fidel Castro and lawyer, politician and educator Armando Hart.
The also master in Spanish philology evoked the work of intellectuals Cintio Vitier and Fina Garcia-Marruz, who died in this capital on June 27, and mentioned other writers associated with its first board of directors as poets Roberto Fernandez Retamar and Angel Augier.
The researcher mentioned among the milestones of more than four decades of work the 29 volumes of the critical editions of Martí’s complete works that reveal the rigor, breadth, universal vocation and will for the preservation of his word.
