Embalo is accompanied by President of the ECOWAS Commission, Gambian Oumar Alieu Turay. Both of them were received at the Ahmed Sekou Toure International Airport by the coup leader Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya.
Brief official reports revealed that Doumbouya talked privately to the visiting president at the protocol rooms of the air terminal before heading to the Mohammed V Palace (Presidential Palace) downtown.
The ECOWAS mediator in the Guinean crisis, Thomas Boni Yayi, arrived in the Guinean capital on Tuesday. Debates will focus on the duration of the transition and the facilitation of the inter-Guinean dialogue.
This subregional organization continues condemning the three-year calendar proposed by the transition military authorities and said an acceptable calendar must be submitted by August 4.
Doumbouya led a coup d’état on September 5, 2021, against President Alpha Condé.
