Al-Assad called during the meeting to intensify contacts between the economic and commercial actors in the two countries for the benefit of their two peoples.

He highlighted the role of the Syrian community in Paraguay and Latin America in strengthening relations and bridging geographical distances.

The Syrians who emigrated to Latin America centuries ago represent a real social and cultural bridge with the South American continent, the Governor said.

He considered that the success of Syrian emigrants in integrating into new societies confirms that they are one of the most open peoples.

In the same context, he praised the peoples of Latin America who welcomed the Syrians and received them without any racism, and showed deep understanding and support for the causes of the Arab region.

In turn, the head and members of the Paraguayan delegation stated that a new phase of cooperation between Syria and Paraguay began in the economic and commercial fields.

What we saw on the ground during our visit is completely different from the image promoted through the media”, they assured.
