The human rights organization Peace Now posted on social media images that show the tense situation in three places of the West Bank due to actions by the settlers and the right wing.
In front of numerous soldiers, the activists blocked a road to prevent the arrival of members of the Nahala ultranationalist movement, which promotes the colonization plan.
Those constructions are the seed of future Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
All of them are considered illegal by the international community and several resolutions by the United Nations Security Council, but the Israeli Government distinguishes between those that are authorized and those that are not.
The online daily The Times of Israel reported that tension sparked after Nahala’s decision to send hundreds of followers to found three of those settlements, despite warnings by the army.
The purpose of the operation is to try to lay the grounds in the hope that some of the new settlements will eventually be allowed to remain.
