“Our American and British colleagues want, with the active support of the Germans, the Poles and the representatives of the Baltic countries, to turn this conflict into a real war and confront Russia with the European countries, it is an Anglo-Saxon initiative” the Chancellor in an interview with Sputnik and RT declared.

The head of the Russian diplomacy added that this plan is very beneficial for the United States due to its geographical situation, since it is separated from the conflict zone by “oceans and straits”.

Lavrov stressed that London and Washington are currently preventing Kiev from making “any constructive steps”.

On the other hand, referring to the problems of the European Union (EU) in the energy sphere, caused by the anti-Russian sanctions, Lavrov said that this is not a reason for Russia to rejoice, but Moscow will not be particularly worried about this situation either.

For Lavrov, another problem affecting the EU bloc today consists in a drift away from integration processes, a path leading to disintegration.

“The demands of Brussels, which are not always based on legislative agreements, begin to irritate and prevent countries from building their own internal life in accordance with their traditions, with their religion,” the Foreign Minister assured.
