Number of Arabs killed in Israel this year still on the rise

Israel, áabes, asesinatos, aumento
Tel Aviv, Jul 21 (Prensa Latina) The murder of a 23-year-old man brought to 56 the number of Arab-Israelis killed violently this year, the Ynet news website reported.

According to the source, the victim was shot in the southern town of Rahat, inhabited almost entirely by Bedouins.

The preliminary investigation pointed to revenge for a triple murder in November 2020.

Ahmad Fahuri, a resident of the town of Nazareth, was also shot dead last night during a fight.

The news outlet noted that Fahuri participated previously in demonstrations against violence against Arabs, which represents almost 21 percent of the national population and has roughly 1.9 million members.

Ali and Mahmoud Fahuri, cousins of Ahmad, were also killed near the town of Kiryat Tivon about a month ago.

Abraham Initiatives, an organization dedicated to promoting relations between Arabs and Jews, launched in mid-2021 the hashtag #Arab_Lives_Matter on Twitter, similar to the US movement Black Lives Matter.

More than a hundred members of the Arab community were killed in 2021 in Israel.
