In a video published on social networks, Quesada pointed out that Costa Rica has been participating in this annual operation for years, which in 2022 was carried out from June 23 to 30.
Quesada added that Costa Rica’s operation involved border checkpoints, the Juan Santamaría International Airport and postal customs, for a total of 29 inspected establishments, including macrobiotics, pharmacies, distributors, sex shops and supermarkets, as well as raids in the Costa Rican Post Office.
He noted that most of the units seized in this country were medicines, natural medicinal products and dietary supplements, without sanitary registration and for a value of 35,582,120 colones, about 53,000 dollars.
Most of the seizures lacked sanitary registration, were fake or had expired, their registration was cancelled, or did not comply with labeling requirements, he said.
