According to the Scientific Council, NATO´s Summit held in Madrid “clearly proved that it remains as a mechanism for imposing the US interests over the collective West”, the Council told TASS.
In this regard, the scientists added that unlike what was stated by NATO, “its actions do not help guarantee international stability and the strengthening of its member countries´ security,” the statement added.
The statements came after a Tuesday´s debate on the strategy to be implemented by Russia towards the West, taking into account its national security interest.
Previously, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said NATO increased tensions and destabilized European security by branding Russia as enemy.
Among other factors affecting stability and security in Europe, Patrushev listed the Western countries´ call to bring NATO´s war infrastructure closer to the Russian borders, as well as actively to accumulate its forces and military troops on the eastern flank, to invite Finland and Sweden to join the alliance, and to create a new Aukus military bloc.
