The Cuban Foreign Ministry ratified on its Twitter account the commitment to continue strengthening bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries.

July 28 marks the declaration of independence of that nation by José de San Martín, whose act was signed on July 15, 1821 in Lima.

The Liberator took the Peruvian flag, showed it to the crowd and proclaimed the phrase that would reaffirm one of the most important events: “Peru from this moment is free and independent by the general will of the people and by the justice of its cause that God defends.”

Recently, the Cuban ambassador to the South American nation, Carlos Rafael Zamora, referred to solidarity as a factor that identifies both countries and justifies their sense of unity and Latin American integration, necessary and indispensable.
