Judge Sara Cockerill, who presided over the most recent hearing held last week at the Commercial Court, said that instance does not recognize the judgment issued by the Venezuelan Supreme Court (TSJ), which annulled the appointment by the opposition of an ad hoc board to manage the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).

I have decided that Guaidó’s board won: the TSJ´s decisions are not capable of being recognized (by the British justice), the magistrate announced in a 64-page verdict.

In a statement sent to Prensa Latina, the London law firm representing the BCV board appointed by Venezuela’s constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, regretted Cockerill’s decision, and announced that it will appeal the verdict.
