Cuba to host race for Nelson Mandela International Day

Havana, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Saturday will hold the 7th edition race for the Nelson Mandela International Day, sponsored by Cuba´s National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER, in Spanish) and the South African embassy in Cuba, the organizers confirmed.

Starting at 7:30 a.m, local time, at the 1830 Restaurant, participants will race all over Malecón (Cuba´s famous seawall), take the Avenida de las Misiones and reach the finish line at the Museum of the Revolution.

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) established every July 18 as the Nelson Mandela International Day to honor life and historical legacy of the anti-apartheid leader, in order to make Mandela’s social goals of progress, democracy and zero racial discrimination true.
