The meeting, known by the acronym Accsm 21, which also includes the Asean+3 (China, South Korea and Japan) and dialogue partner countries, will be held here from August 3 to 5 and will contribute to consolidate the comprehensive and lasting friendship among the participating states, Pham Thi Thanh Tra said.
It is the first time the meeting will be held in a live format in Vietnam, after a long pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Interior Minister said, adding that the central theme of the discussions will be “Modernizing civil services towards a cohesive and adaptive Asean community”.
The events, including an Accsm 21-level forum and conference, will focus on implementing community initiatives and proposing innovative ideas to overcome challenges and implement good practices in national governance, she explained in an interview with VNA news agency.
In addition, they will seek to promote the development of civil services and contribute to the realization of the Asean Community Vision 2025, which will help to generate an imprint and image of the country and its people among international friends and the region in the new reality, she said.
She stressed that in the context of the complex evolution of the world situation, the organization of the Accms 21 will be a vivid proof of the solidarity and friendship among the peoples of the community of Southeast Asian nations for the peace and common prosperity of the whole bloc.
