According to the authority, members of the Special Force to Combat Drug Trafficking successfully carried out an operation in the region of Santa Teresa, located in the so-called Indigenous Territory and Isiboro Sécure National Park, shared by the departments of Beni and Cochabamba.

The dismantled infrastructure was valued at US$350,000, produced up to 70 kilograms of drugs per day and had a capacity for 35 workers, said del Castillo.

The government official warned of the level of sophistication with which the drug trafficking criminal group operated, with high-tech early warning equipment located in the vicinity of the laboratory.

To avoid being captured by law enforcement, two security points were set up, 10 and 15 minutes from the center, said the authority.

According to the operation report, for the production of the drug, the laboratory had the necessary equipment for the processes of centrifugation, washing, dilution and filtering, distillation, power generator, drying and pressing.

The policy of the Government of President Luis Arce regarding drug traffic and related crimes is zero tolerance, a task that the specialized forces of law and order are carrying out with satisfactory results.
