The plant, active since 1968 in the country, has presented in recent months difficulties that have prevented it from operating at maximum capacity.

According to the report of the digital portal of Radio Cadena Agramonte “the active blocks are number five, which generates 109 MW, while number six delivers 112 MW to the SEN.

The information was offered by the director of the thermoelectric plant, Jesús Barceló, who specified that in the case of block four, it has a fault in the upper thermal chamber.

To make October 10 fully available, operators and specialists from the Power Plant Maintenance Company (EMCE) and brigades from the thermoelectric plant itself evaluate the causes of the problem before undertaking the necessary actions, the publication points out.

The situation of the National Electroenergetic System (SEN) of Cuba is complex and tense at the moment, reason why it is working hard to recover generation capacities gradually, the Minister of Energy and Mines, Ivan Arronte, stated a few days ago.
