Chinese diplomat thanks Cuba’s support in face of US interference

Havana, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The Chinese Ambassador in Havana Ma Hui on Friday thanked Cuban government´s and people´s solidarity and support for his country's fight for sovereignty in face of meddling US actions.

Cuba´s stance also proves support for the principles of international law and the UN Charter, said the Chinese diplomat, while condemning the US Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi´s visit to Taiwan.

Ma Hui said several nations and political bodies globally have sent China solidarity messages, while highlighted recent messages handed over in Havana by the Nicaraguan government and the United Left Movement of Dominican Republic.

The ambassador stressed the US meddling in other States´ internal affairs violates interests and sovereignty of developing countries.

On August 3, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX, in Spanish) expressed its total rejection of actions aimed at negatively impacting on China´s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Ma Hui stressed China will take all measures to champion its sovereignty and national unity, while stressing that the One China principle is a universal consensus by the international community.

He added that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan undermines bilateral relations and sends a wrong signal to secessionist forces, noting such present tensions are due to actions taken by the United States and secessionist groups.
