The coastal enclave’s Health Ministry said in its latest report that a five-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman were among the dead.
According to the correspondent of the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, among the targets hit were an apartment in a high-rise building in the Gaza City neighborhood of Al-Rimal and a house in the village of Al-Fakhari.
Warplanes also launched missiles at targets in the towns of Beit Lahia and Khan Yunis, in the north and south of the territory, respectively.
A statement issued by Islamic Jihad stressed that among the fatalities was Tayseer Al-Jabari, head in the northern region of the enclave of the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the group.
Following the attack, the group’s secretary general, Ziad al-Nakhala, announced the start of hostilities against Israel.
Resistance fighters must act as one man, and there are no red lines, no interruptions and no third-party mediations, al-Nakhala said.
The aggression was condemned by the Palestinian presidency, as well as by various parties and human rights groups.
