Michel Brunetti, an ISAC expert, said in statements published by Gazetta del Sud, Adnkronos and other publications, that last July the temperature was 2.26 degrees above average, based on records that began in 1800.

“July 2022 was the second hottest July since measurements were taken, second only to the same month in 2003,” Brunetti explained.

The report of that institute, attached to the National Research Council (CNR), points out that climate change is accompanied by an evident tendency to tropicalization, which is also manifested by a strong drought and seasonal delays.

In the current month of August, according to the source, Italy is under a new African anticyclone that raises the heat especially in the northern regions, with peak temperatures this Friday between 38 and 39 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of reaching up to 40 degrees on the island of Sardinia.
