Vietnam reports 2,000 new Covid-19 cases for fifth consecutive day

Hanoi, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) For the fifth consecutive day, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health reported on Friday more than two thousand new cases of Covid-19, surpassing the 11 million infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the last 24 hours, 2,074 patients were diagnosed and now the total number of people who have been infected in the country by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in its different variants rose to 11,192,043, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health.

At the same time, 9,481 medical discharges were granted, which brought to 9,957,655 the number of recovered patients, and there were no deaths as a consequence of the disease, so the death toll remains at 43,094.

In hospitals, 46 patients remain in serious condition and require respiratory support.

On the other hand, the vaccination campaign continued nationwide and with the more than 387 thousand doses administered yesterday, more than 247,700,000 doses have been administered to date.
