On July 21, several individuals arrived at the headquarters of the Instituto Patria in the capital and uttered intimidating threats against the head of the Senate and members of that legislative chamber. They also threw garbage and kicked the doors of the building.

“Cristina, now it’s your turn to be hanged, it’s the only way to get rid of you. We will do it here or in front of the Senate,” a man shouted through a megaphone.

He also called on the Armed Forces to “define themselves” and urged to use machineguns to “liquidate” Kirchner supporters.

The day before, Prosecutor Leonel Gomez requested the arrest of the subject and asked to investigate members of the City Police for alleged cover-up.

According to Telam, the arrest was made by federal agents of the Department of Intelligence Against Organized Crime and the 64-year-old defendant faces charges of aggravated coercive threatening.
