The secretary general of the PLO executive committee, Hussein al Sheikh, condemned on Twitter the “criminal aggression against our people” in the coastal enclave, where more than two million people live.

He also rejected the desecration of holy sites, shortly after more than 1,000 Israelis entered the Esplanade of the Mosques in East Jerusalem, an action that Palestinians see as a provocation.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry yesterday criticized the offensive as “a manifestation of the Israeli army’s arrogance and an extension of its racist colonial mentality”.

The Foreign Ministry affirmed that the neighboring nation uses the occupied territory as a training ground and the Palestinian citizen as a target for shooting.

The Tel Aviv Armed Forces began bombing suspected targets of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad on Friday, which responded with barrages of rockets against the neighboring nation’s territory.

For several days Israel has been preventing the entry of diesel and basic necessities into the coastal enclave.
