“We have had the happy news of a 21-percent reduction of contagions and, according to the protocol, we have to wait four weeks for the same behavior to continue in order to declare that Covid-19 is on the decrease,” Freddy Armijo, national director of Epidemiology, said at a press briefing.

The health authority affirmed on Sunday that of the nine departments, eight have reduced Covid-19 cases and only Oruro maintains an increase of four percentage points.

Armijo wished that this territory also achieves a reduction this week.

Despite that the wear of facemask is respected on the public roads and people are observed going to perform the PCR tests and administer the vaccine in several points of the cities, the official expressed concern about the low vaccination coverage against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the age group of children under 18 years old.
