After the oil spill from the second tank, intense and effective work is being carried out to control it, Presidencia Cuba wrote on its Twitter account.

Matanzas Governor Mario Sabines commented in a video that tank two had cracked earlier “and now it is on but very low.”

Sabines explained that the explosion took out all the fuel and spilled into the areas surrounding the tank and ignited the weed.

He indicated that several fire teams are working on the ground “extinguishing where it could be extinguished” and in a terrain under risk.
