In a report posted on its web page, the Secretariat affirms that expectations for tourism in Mexico have improved, which is why it now expects a greater number of foreign travelers to arrive and revenues are better than expected.

Tourism Secretary Miguel Torruco expects that Mexico earns this year 6.32 billion dollars more than what was estimated in 2021, that is, 32 percent more, and 6.3 billion dollars more than in 2019, the year prior to the pandemic.

According to the note, the official stated that the country expects the arrival of 42,301,000 international tourists, 10,425,000 more than what was registered in 2021, which result in an increase of 32.7 percent, although 6.0 percent below the total recorded in 2019.

Torruco said that expectations have been adjusted upward in accordance with what has been observed in the behavior the tourist activity has been showing this year.
