Márquez laid stress on the need to build a social talk under the principles of respect, tolerance and mutual recognition, which includes communities that have been historically coexisting in the department, business sector and the State.

It is my call, not only as vice president, but as member of this region. We are clear about our liability as national government and with the spirit of our ancestors to collectively searching a solution, Márquez stressed.

She reiterated Colombian government´s priority is to shield life, so in this regard she hopes to find a way out, which, first of all, allows to keep peaceful coexistence.

Second, safeguard the lives of all community members. Third, adopt measures to maintain coexistence between indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants and peasants, she added.

The Colombian vice president also stressed the armed and social conflict in the department and, in this case, the conflict over land, did not start now, it is a situation that has been happening for years.
