In his opening remarks, the president stressed that Russian weapons are decades ahead of their foreign counterparts, being far superior regarding tactical and technical features.

“Promising designs and systems that are future-oriented to shape the tomorrow´s armed forces are an issue of special interest,” Putin said, detailing these are “high-precision and robotic weapons, combat systems based on new physical principles.”

The Russian leader also stressed that Moscow urges for broadest possible development of military-technical cooperation, and in view of this he calls to continue carrying out joint military drills with its allies. “We intend to actively develop cooperative ties for the creation of new weapons and equipment, in order to work together on fair and equal terms.”

The Army-2022 military exhibition opened on Monday and will be held through August 21, at the Patriot Exhibition Center, located on the outskirts of Moscow.

Military delegations from 72 countries were taking part in the forum and will have the chance of attending 289 events, including an international anti-fascist congress aimed at countering misrepresentation of Russian military history and the regional nations.
