From the capital’s Los Caobos Park, this 13th edition returned in face-to-face format, after two years of activities on digital platforms as a result of health and confinement measures associated with the Covid-19 pandemic.
Under the slogan Volvemos a leernos, the literary space includes the presence of seven international guest writers, among them Nadia López, from Mexico, and Silvia Goldman, from Uruguay; as well as other intellectuals from Argentina, Colombia and Cuba.
The list of participants also includes more than 60 national authors, around 80 book stands and thematic areas related to the world of literature, in addition to a program of lectures, conferences, workshops, poetry recitals, interviews and exchanges with writers.
During the inauguration of this cultural festival, the mayor of the Bolivarian municipality of Libertador, Carmen Meléndez, invited the public to enjoy artistic initiatives related to music, theater, puppets and shows in the circus tent.
For his part, Ernesto Villegas, Minister of People’s Power for Culture, recalled the successful development of the International Progressive Theater Festival in nine capitals of the country, and alluded to the tribute to personalities such as journalist and producer Armando Sequera.
Scheduled until August 21, the event includes the sale of two thousand copies of Fábula de la mazorca, one of the most renowned publications of the honored writer, whose cover illustration is by Carola López.
