Climate change to be discussed at Caribbean Community meeting (+Photo)

Nassau, Aug 16 (Prensa Latina) Issues related to climate change, mitigation, adaptation and support will be discussed at the First Regional Meeting of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero said.

This was confirmed on his Twitter account, where he also reiterated that he will represent Cuba at the meeting held with a view to the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27).

The head of government, who arrived the day before in Nassau, was received by the Bahamian Minister of Health, Michael Darville, to whom he thanked for the warm welcome and ratified the will to expand cooperation ties.

He had a subsequent meeting with members of the Cuban State Mission and a representation of the cooperants working in the Bahamas, in which he was able to learn about the work of the Henry Reeve Brigade that has been cooperating with this country for seven months in the fight against Covid-19.

The Cuban delegation is also made up by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodríguez, the Ambassador to the Bahamas, Julio César González, and other officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Science, Technology and Environment.
