The aid for those affected by the fire at the Supertanker Base in Matanzas (100 kilometers east of the Havana), also contributed by Belizean Doctors Khalid Jou and Billy Jou, who graduated as orthopedic surgeons in Cuba, was received by the Cuban Embassy in Havana, a note from that Mission noted.

Supplies consisted of donations, which accompany other tokens of solidarity from the people and the Government of Belize due to the August 5 events, will be sent to hospitals in Matanzas that provide care to those injured in the fire.
