Cuba pays tribute to the fallen in Matanza firefighting

Havana, Aug 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba will honor on Friday, August 19, the fallen in the confrontation with the large-scale fire occurred at the Industrial Zone of the western province of Matanzas.

Population will have the opportunity to offer their heartfelt condolences and solidarity to those who died in the attempt to put out the fire from 10:00 to 17:00, local time, at the Enrique Estrada Firefighters Museum.

The 14 deaths are soldiers: Adriano Rodríguez (Matanzas), Fabián Naranjo and Leo Alejandro Doval (both from Matanzas), Michel Rodríguez (Mayabeque); First NCO Diosdel Nazco (Matanzas); Captain Areskys Quintero (Mayabeque), First Lieutenant Andy Mitchel Ramos (Havana), Luis Angel Alvarez and Pablo Angel Lopez (both from Matanzas); Osmany Blasco and Rolando Oviedo (both from Mayabeque); as well as Raciel Alonso Martinez, Luis Raul Aguilar and Osley Marante (Havana).

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel declareda two-day official mourning, starting at 6:00 a.m. local time on Thursday, in tribute to the victims of Cuba´s deadliest catastrophe ever.
