Under the slogan Here we are, this anniversary reiterates the support of the artistic vanguard to the political, economic and social processes taking place in the island, while mobilizing all spheres of cultural life.
More than six decades after the inauguration of the First National Congress of intellectuals and creators of the island, whose sessions concluded with the creation of Uneac on August 22, 1961, the members of the organization discuss the draft bill of the Social Communication Law, from each provincial committee.
In that sense, they exchanged on the implementation of the new regulations in order to improve contemporary Cuba, while they pronounced themselves on the need to bring the actions closer to the communities, the protection of the Spanish language, the vindication of the roots and the defense of the identity.
Likewise, Uneac’s profile on the social network Facebook echoed the meeting of artists with Teresa Amarelle Boue, secretary general of the Federation of Cuban Women, an organization that also commemorates its anniversary on this date (August 23).
During the meeting, they talked about the initiatives associated with the implementation of the program for the Advancement of Women, as it became a space to expose women’s experiences within the industry, their concerns, current biases and challenges.
