This will allow state governments to evaluate year after year their progress in the implementation of mitigation measures for Greenhouse Gases and adaptation to climate change in a transparent and reliable manner.

The secretariat reported that this platform will allow the Mexican states will be able to report, monitor, verify and evaluate the adaptation and mitigation actions implemented and be part of the Determined Contribution mechanism, which Mexico will present in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change as part of the Paris Agreement.

Maria Luisa Albores, head of SEMARNAT, said that the Mexican government has a special interest in promoting activities for the care and protection of the planet with the responsibility of addressing the effects that the climate crisis represents for the country under a biocultural approach.
