The day before, Douglas Rodríguez, president of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR), assured that July, for example, became the second month with the highest exports in the country’s history, registering 691.8 million dollars.
Total sales of goods produced by El Salvador totaled 6,6 million at the end of 2021 with a growth of 31,8% and now those amounts grew by 17% until July.
Rodríguez explained that the companies that concentrate most of the exports are manufacturing companies with 75%, and registered a growth of 15%. Among the companies’ outstanding products are plastics, textiles and clothing, he said.
Electrical capacitors and clothing are the products with the highest production growth.
The senior bank official said that exports reached 19 countries for the first time, including Tanzania, Croatia and Nigeria. About 51 nations receive more than 10 types of Salvadoran products, the total export destinations, as of July 2022, are 118 and the basket of exportable products are 835.
