According to the director of the hospital in the southern province of Deraa, Yehya Kiwan, a remnant explosive device of those planted by terrorist groups exploded in the agricultural lands of the village of Namer in the northwestern part of the province, while the children were playing in the place.

On the 12th of this month, a similar explosion killed a woman and two girls in the same province of Deraa.
According to recent data from the UN anti-mine department in Syria, between 2015 and 2022, about 15,000 people were killed or injured by mines in Syria, i.e. five per day.
In turn, the government revealed last June that the Syrian armed forces defused more than 50,000 explosive charges, 84,000 unexploded shells and 45,000 mines of various types, and demined more than 55,000 hectares of the country.
