Germany denies having weapons to share with Ukraine

Berlin, Aug 25 (Prensa Latina) The Foreign Minister of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, stated that the Bundeswehr is suffering from an absolute shortage of reserves that prevents it from increasing arms deliveries to Ukraine.

According to the minister, the country is currently experiencing a lack of its own reserves, she said in an interview with the ZDF television channel.

According to Baerbock, the German authorities created a special fund of 100 billion euros to resolve the situation and support their armed forces.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this week that Germany plans to hand over 500 million euros worth of war material to Ukraine in 2023.

After Russia recognized the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and launched its military operation in Ukraine, several Western countries enabled sanctions against Moscow and began supplying Kiev with weapons, which are often employed against the civilian population in Donbass.
