A press release from the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (Senacyt) said that the main objective of this edition will be to promote science, mathematics and creativity among the young generations.
Delegations from some 20 countries will meet in Panama from October 3 to 7 in an event that is cosponsored by the City of Knowledge Foundation and the National Space Science Center of Panama.
The organizing committee told reporters about the importance of the meeting, the first in a face-to-face format after two years of restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the opinion of City of Knowledge Foundation President Jorge Arosemena, the event is another step to face the great challenges of the 21st century, from an ideal scenario for learning and innovation.
The young participants in the Olympiad will take tests on theoretical and practical knowledge on space sciences, individually and in groups of students from different Latin American countries, he added.
