Cuba reaffirms respect for Serbia’s territorial integrity

Belgrade, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla reaffirmed in this capital the Caribbean island's position in favor of respect for Serbia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

During a visit to this Balkan country, Rodriguez Parrilla spoke with his counterpart Nikola Selaković in a meeting in which the parties highlighted the good state of bilateral relations, which next November 4 will reach its 120th anniversary.

They also expressed the will to strengthen political-diplomatic and economic-commercial ties, according to a message from the Cuban Foreign Minister on his official Twitter page.

Both ministers signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the diplomatic academies of their countries.

During the meeting, the Cuban Foreign Minister thanked Belgrade for Belgrade’s support for the Cuban resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

The Cuban side also signed an agreement in the area of sports, which was also endorsed by the Serbian head of that portfolio, Vanja Udovicic.

As part of his stay in this nation Rodríguez Parrilla also exchanged with the president of the National Assembly Vladimir Orlić in an appointment in which the parties expressed mutual interest in strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and exchanges.
