There won’t be impunity in Ayotzinapa case, López Obrador affirmed

Mexico City, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on Monday reiterated there will be no impunity in the case of the murder and disappearance of 43 Ayotzinapa teaching students.

In his morning press briefing at the National Palace, the president announced that the investigation is progressing and revealed there are many elements, and also asked for advisors’ opinions and made other consultations.

Nor will the search for the remains be stopped because Ayotzinapa is another of those regrettable abuses by the authorities and a bad government that practiced criminal association and injustice, López Obrador said referring to the government of former President Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018), although without mentioning his name.

He insisted that they will give continuity to the case, it is a commitment we made to the country, and we are acting on it. I have said it because it is important to be clear about it.

The president reiterated that the Ayotzinapa case is divided into two moments, the murder and disappearance of those teaching students, which is a concrete fact, and the cover-up that makes it necessary to investigate and discover the reasons.

According to the investigation commission’s report, it is known who participated, all of them, and there will be no impunity, everyone will be tried, he assured.
